Pump Maintenance
Proper pump cleaning is essential for maintaining fountain performance and water cleanliness. Follow these steps to ensure the longevity of your fountain:
- Disconnect the fountain from the power supply.
- Separate the top bowl from the lower bowl.
- Unplug the power cord from the transformer.
- Remove the top cover of the pump housing and set it aside.
- Carefully lift the motor out of the pump housing cavity. The suction cups on the motor's base may require a slight amount of force to release.
- Detach the intake plate by gently squeezing it on either side and pulling it off. If needed, use a fingernail to assist in prying it open.
- Remove the stator by placing a fingernail under the small lip on the narrow side of the stator and pulling it out.
- Take out the impeller (three-bladed propeller) held in place magnetically. To remove, insert a fingernail under one blade and lift it out.
- Rinse all components thoroughly.
- Reassemble the motor by replacing the impeller, stator, and intake plate in their original positions.
