Storage and Shelf Life
Harrison's Bird Foods is free from artificial preservatives, so proper storage is essential to maintain freshness. Follow these tips:
- Remove excess air from the bag and seal it tightly.
- If the zip lock is damaged, fold the top of the bag several times and secure it with a clip.
- Always store the food in its original packaging; avoid transferring it to plastic bags or containers.
- Consume the contents within 8 weeks of opening for optimal freshness.
- Only purchase Harrison's products in their original packaging to ensure quality.
- To extend freshness, consider refrigerating or freezing the food after opening.
Transitioning to Harrison's
- Consult an avian veterinarian before switching your bird’s diet, and schedule annual checkups for ongoing care.
- Gradually introduce Harrison's by mixing it with your bird’s current diet and monitoring their acceptance.
- If necessary, transition slowly over four weeks, increasing Harrison's by 25% each week while reducing the previous diet accordingly.
